SUMMARY:
Dr. Femino specializes in the treatment of bone and soft tissue tumors. He is among a small group of orthopaedic surgeons who treat malignant and benign tumors of the musculoskeletal system (bone, muscles, and connective tissues) in both children and adults. Working within a multidisciplinary team of specialists at the City of Hope, Dr. Femino has devoted his clinical practice to performing limb-saving surgical removal of bone cancers with reconstruction of the limb. This multidisciplinary approach has led to increased survival, function, and quality of life for bone cancer patients.
Dr. Femino's research interests include outcomes and function of limb-salvage surgery, minimally invasive techniques for the treatment of bone tumors, and new therapies for the treatment of Ewing's sarcoma.
