Summary:
Dr. Nien's areas of expertise include basic laparoscopy, hernia repair, GERD, vascular
access, endoscopy, trauma, burn, emergent and elective gastrointestinal surgery,
hemorrhoids, soft tissue infection and wound care.
A native of Taiwan, Dr. Nien spent 21 years in Santiago, Chile where he obtained his
medical degree from Pontificia Universidad Catolica de Chile in 2001. Shortly after
completing his medical studies, Dr. Nien began a two and a half year fellowship in
Wound Healing Research under the Division of Plastic Surgery at the University of
Southern California. In 2004 he successfully completed his General Surgery
Internship, also at USC, followed by a four-year Residency in General Surgery at
Marshall University from 2004-2008.
Dr. Nien has staff privileges at facilities in the surrounding areas, including Antelope
Valley Hospital, Palmdale Regional Medical Center and Henry Mayo Newhall
Memorial Hospital, giving him the ability to manage your care locally.
