SUMMARY:

Mark T. Wakabayashi, MD, is the Director of the Department of Gynecologic Oncology at the City of Hope Cancer Center. His clinical interests include all gynecologic cancers (ovarian, endometrial, cervical and vulvar) and benign gynecologic issues in females diagnosed with non-gynecologic cancers. Dr. Wakabayashi is committed not only to treating cancer, but addressing the complete care needs of each person.Dr. Wakabayashi's research interests center on quality of life issues for patients with gynecologic cancers, as well as those with other cancers. He is also involved in translational research with the nationally-renowned research scientists at City of Hope.

Dr. Wakabayashi attended medical school at Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine. Following medical school, Dr. Wakabayashi trained in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Hawaii, where he also received a Masters in Public Health degree. Prior to his arrival at City of Hope, Dr. Wakabayashi completed a three-year fellowship in gynecologic oncology also at Stritch School of Medicine.

Dr. Wakabayashi is Board Certified in gynecologic oncology by the American Board of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Currently, he is a member of the Society of Gynecologic Oncologists as well as the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
